Historical flood devastates Hickman County!
This picture shows the Centerville Bridge. It was taken Sunday May 2, 2010 from someone on the Centerville side. Our county was literally physically divided. For those of us that live here- viewing this picture gives the same response- a gasp...
What is going on, What is happening? So many unanswered questions, no ways to communicate, one county divided into 2 (and more) parts, road collapses, mud slides. Some folks losing homes, lives, belongings, other folks not even aware of what is transpiring. We had a tornado too? Where? The past 2 weeks have been surreal for our county- first tornadoes, then floods WITH tornadoes!
In addition, Mill Creek Bridge Road which crosses Hgwy 100 was also impassable as flood waters raged out of control- ripping away trees, other bridges, parts of the road, in some cases as in Missionary Ridge, SECTIONS of the road.

MISSIONARY RIDGE- We have no water, we have no road
"No water, no electric, no phone, cells don't work either... WHAT is happening?'" We tried to reach friends and could not. When we went out to deliver drinking water to this area, we could not physically get there.
IT IS UP TO THE SIGN!
Fish Camp- the restaurant is located just before the Centerville Bridge
I cannot reach my family in Bellevue!

Many of us watched in horror as our beloved Nashville was hit from all sides. With SO much happening all at once, in SO many of the surrounding counties, and with many forms of communication being disabled...who could possibly keep track? It was and still is surreal...
Our neighbor finally did reach her family in Bellevue, again we breathed a sigh of relief.
But what about all of the others...
The media has just NOW been able to reach us
